Easter 2011

With all the public holidays and school holidays looming in April, many parents are dreading the thought of entertaining their kids during this time! Staying at Rockwood takes away this worry – just let them run off some steam in the Wild and they’d be tucked in by sunset! Some ideas to keep them busy:

  • Fishing: Teach your kids the virtue of patience by plonking down next to the dam and waiting for a bite. Much sought after quality time can be spent with your little ones while taking in the breathtaking views of the Karkloof Nature Reserve.
  • Easter Egg Hunt: A treat which goes down very well with the little ones. Our staff hide away some Easter choccies on Good Friday and the kids can explore the forest or farm while looking for these elusive nibbles!
  • Swimming: Before it gets too cold, enjoy a refreshing swim in one of our dams or wiers. Your kids will love the difference to your pool at home!
  • Explore, explore, explore: Whether on foot or on bike, spend some time exploring Nature with your kids. Pack one of our reference guides in your backpack and set out to identify some of the birds, trees and nunu’s in our forest!

If all else fails and your kids are suffering from Electronic Media Stimulation withdrawal symptoms, there’s a DSTV, iPod docking station and Blu Ray DVD player in at least three of the four lodges!
