We are for Nature and her People and support a variety of initiatives in the area, as well as further afield. Here are some of the initiatives we’ve been involved in recently.
- JHB Earth Night, 08 August: From the 3 Cranes Challenge to its annual fundraising event of Earth Night (hosted in Johannesburg, Cape Town and Durban), we support the Wildlands Conservation Trust’s vision of “A Sustainable Future for All”. Earth Night is a celebration of the incredible network of over 8000 “Green-preneurs” who demonstrate that it is possible to live “clean and green” even in the most hopeless of communities. The funds raised through the Earth Night series helps make possible the Trust’s conversation efforts around endangered species such as the bearded vulture, wild dog and rhino.
- Tee Off for Karkloof, 29 August: The Karkloof Conservancy comprises farmers and landowners in the Karkloof and covers a region of approximately 30,000ha. Besides its efforts in preserving the unique biodiversity of the Karkloof in its entirety, the Conservancy’s key projects include Conservation of the 3 Cranes species, including the endangered Wattled Crane, environmental education programmes with our local farm schools and the Karkloof Conservation Centre which is an absolute MUST DO when visiting the Karkloof. Yet another successful Golf Day was held at the Howick Golf Club to raise funds for these projects and we were delighted to support this event again.
