Directions from Durban
N.B. ROCKWOOD FOREST LODGE and ROCKWOOD MOUNTAIN CABIN are accessible using HIGH CLEARANCE or 4x4 VEHICLES ONLY. ROCKWOOD FARM HOUSE and FARM COTTAGE are accessed on gravel roads.
As Rockwood operates in a remote area, we encourage our guests to notify us of their arrival time and to proceed to our office / reception to "check-in." Although, all units are sign-posted, staff can assist with directions, assistance on muddy roads and ensure that guests are settled into their accommodation. Should guests wish to proceed directly to their lodges, please let management and staff know so that gates are open, keys are available, lodges are unlocked and alarms disarmed.
Take N3 to HOWICK from DURBAN
Take HOWICK/MIDMAR Exit towards R103 / Prospect Road
At the top of the off-ramp TURN RIGHT onto R103 / Prospect Road (cross over the N3 towards Howick)
After 2km, turn LEFT onto Main Road, follow the signs to Central HOWICK.
After 2km, through Howick central, at SupaQuick Tyres, turn RIGHT onto KARKLOOF / RIETVLEI ROAD (Karkloof Reserve).
After 13.8kms, turn LEFT to CURRY’S POST / Karkloof Reserve West onto a gravel road.
After 3.5kms turn RIGHT onto D815 to Karkloof Reserve West / Hancock Farms.
Continue straight for about 4.5km to Rockwood gate / PRIVATE PROPERTY sign.
Enter the gate code.
Continue, cross over a wooden bridge.
Turn RIGHT at the sign to ROCKWOOD OFFICE.
The office is the last building on the RIGHT.
Enter through the gate in the hedge, walk to the left door for CHECK-IN.
