ALL OTHER LODGES rely on Eskom for electricity. Backup lamps and gas stoves with kettles are available in the event of a power failure.

If you are travelling with anyone who cannot swim, please take note that Rockwood FARM HOUSE and ROCKWOOD FARM COTTAGE share an unfenced dam, and that Rockwood FOREST LODGE is situated on the banks of a stream.

No Pet Policy
We regret that Rockwood is a within a Nature Reserve and that we are unable to accommodate pets as they are unaccustomed to the wildlife and usually pose a threat to themselves.

Weather
The Karkloof is a hot, summer rainfall area with dry, colder winters. Please bear this in mind when travelling and pack appropriate clothing.

Service times
The lodges and cabins are serviced daily in the morning. Servicing includes washing dishes, sweeping and making beds. For an additional fee, staff may wash bicycles or prepare breakfasts and salads.

Rockwood Trails and Karkloof Nature Reserve
As our guest, you have full access to the private Karkloof Nature Reserve and Rockwood's extensive well-designed and maintained mountain bike, running and walking trails with beautiful views, wooden bridges over rivers and waterfalls. The longer trails are marked. The Rockwood Angel is a world famous 7km downhill MTB track from the top of Mount Lebanon to the bottom of the Rockwood Gowdini Dam. It has been described as being as, “pure and natural as it gets”. The ABSA Karkloof Country Club is less than 12km and has an additional vast network of trails.

All lodges have alarm systems linked to armed response. Instructions are found in the guest book in your lodge.
